Q: How do I receive plaster models back?
A: After your impression is made into a plaster model and this is scanned to produce an emodel®, the plaster model is returned to your clinic or orthodontic appliance lab if you request this service (Additional Fee).

Q: How Can I Organize My Patient List?
A: When you are viewing your list of patients you may organize it by any of the fields shown. (Name, patient id, date created etc.) Simply click on one of the field names at the top of the patient list and the software will automatically arrange your patients by that field. Click the same field again to reverse the order (i.e. newest to oldest, oldest to newest). This can aid in finding a patient more quickly.
Q: How Do I Back Up My emodels®?
A: GeoDigm maintains a secure original copy of your emodels® for seven years. These are available to you on-line. If you would like to back them up at your office as well, the following procedure can be followed.
- All of your emodels® are stored in one place. They are stored in the C:\program files\GeoDigm\emodel\cache directory.
- To back up the files you may use any type of media, however we recommend using a CD writer or a Large Media back up device such as a Tape back up.
- Then simply add this directory or the whole emodel® directory to your back up.
- For information on installing or using back up hardware please contact a local Computer Technician.
Q: Can I Use My PC While emodels® Are Downloading?
A: Absolutely, the emodel® software doesn’t tie up the use of the machine at all. The only thing you may notice would be slower performance while you are trying to "Multitask" this is normal in Windows. If you were to try any other Internet activity you would probably notice slower performance as well, due to the downloads being in process.
Q: How Can a Referring Doctor View My emodels®?
A: A referring Dr. can view your emodels® in a couple of ways. The first option would be for you to have them download the emodel® software and to give them your username and password. They can log into the software and download that patient.
A: The second option would be for you to email them the emodel® file. This would only be a copy of the file so you would still have the original. In either case it is necessary for the referring Dr. to download the emodel® software. To email the file please follow the steps below. If your emodels® are networked throughout your office please use the computer that you download emodels® onto.
- Open the emodel® you would like to email.
- Click the File Menu at the top of the window.
- Select Send By Email.
- This will create a new email and attach the file.
- Fill in the recipient's email address and click send.
- When the Dr. receives the email, he/she should simply save the attachment to a location on his PC (we would recommend the Windows Desktop).
- The Dr. should make sure that they have installed the emodel® software.
- Once the software is installed, the Dr can double click on the emodel® file you sent them.
NOTE: This Feature Will Not Work With AOL
The advantage to emailing them the file is that you are not giving them complete access to all of your emodels®.
Q: Are emodels® legally admissible?
A: The accuracy and portability of the emodel® make it ideally suited for use in litigation. An original, time and date stamped master copy of all emodels® is kept at GeoDigm which provides additional protection for the data. Should a traditional plaster model be desired, one can be created from an emodel®.
